Fine Lines & Wrinkles Treatment in Cincinnati, Ohio
Ready to get started?
Contact UsFine lines and wrinkles are some of the most common signs of facial aging, but not every wrinkle develops for the same reason - and not every wrinkle should be treated the same way.
At New Body Aesthetics in Cincinnati, Ohio, we take a personalized approach to facial rejuvenation. Instead of simply asking where a patient wants Botox, we evaluate why the line or wrinkle is forming and determine which treatment is most appropriate for that area of the face.
For many expression-related wrinkles, neurotoxin injections such as Botox®, Jeuveau®, Dysport® and other wrinkle-relaxing treatments may help soften existing lines and reduce the repetitive muscle movement that causes them to become more noticeable over time.
What Causes Fine Lines and Wrinkles?
Every time you smile, squint, frown, concentrate, or raise your eyebrows, muscles underneath the skin contract. Over time, repeated facial movement can create visible lines in the skin. These are often called dynamic wrinkles because they are associated with facial movement. Eventually, some of these lines may remain visible even when your face is relaxed.
Other wrinkles may develop because of:
- Natural collagen and elastin loss
- Sun exposure
- Changes in skin quality
- Facial volume loss
- Genetics
- Lifestyle and environmental factors
- Normal facial aging
Understanding the cause of the wrinkle is important because neurotoxins, dermal fillers, skincare, lasers, microneedling, and collagen-stimulating treatments address different components of facial aging.

What Can I Do for Fine Lines and Wrinkles?
If your wrinkles become more noticeable when you smile, frown, squint, or raise your eyebrows, a neurotoxin or wrinkle relaxer may be an appropriate treatment. Neurotoxins work by temporarily reducing targeted muscle activity. With less repetitive movement, the skin above the muscle can appear smoother and expression lines may become less noticeable.
Common treatment areas include:
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines or “11 lines” between the eyebrows
- Crow’s feet around the eyes
- Bunny lines around the nose
- Chin dimpling
- Lines around the mouth
- Downturned corners of the mouth
- Other expression-related facial lines
The goal should not be to eliminate facial expression. Treatment can be customized based on facial anatomy, muscle strength, movement patterns, and the patient's desired result.
Botox, Jeuveau and Dysport in Cincinnati
“Botox” has become the term many people use when searching for wrinkle-relaxing injections, but Botox is actually one brand within a larger category of injectable treatments known as neurotoxins or neuromodulators.
New Body Aesthetics offers neurotoxin treatment options including Botox®, Jeuveau®, and Dysport®.
During your consultation, your provider can evaluate your facial movement and discuss which product and treatment approach may be appropriate for your goals.
Can Neurotoxins Prevent Wrinkles?
Neurotoxins aren't only used after deep wrinkles have developed.
Because repetitive facial muscle movement contributes to expression lines, reducing that movement may also help prevent those lines from becoming more deeply etched into the skin over time.
This is why some patients begin neurotoxin treatments when they first notice lines lingering after their facial expression has relaxed rather than waiting until the lines become deeper.
When Do I Need Filler Instead of Botox?
This is an important distinction. Neurotoxins and dermal fillers do different things.
Neurotoxins primarily address wrinkles associated with muscle movement.
Dermal fillers are generally used to address volume loss, facial structure, contour, or certain folds and lines associated with changes in facial volume.
Some patients benefit from one treatment, while others may benefit from a combination approach.
At New Body Aesthetics, our goal is to determine the cause of the concern first and then recommend the treatment - not simply inject a product because a patient has a wrinkle.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles FAQs
What is the best treatment for forehead wrinkles?
Forehead wrinkles are frequently associated with repeated movement of the forehead muscles. Neurotoxin injections such as Botox, Jeuveau, or Dysport may be used to temporarily relax targeted muscles and soften the appearance of these expression lines. The appropriate treatment depends on your facial anatomy and
movement.
What are the “11 lines” between my eyebrows?
The vertical lines that develop between the eyebrows are commonly called 11 lines, frown lines, or glabellar lines. They develop in part from repeated contraction of muscles between the eyebrows and are a commonly treated area with neurotoxins.
What is the best treatment for crow’s feet?
Crow’s feet are the lines that appear around the outer corners of the eyes, particularly when smiling or squinting. Neurotoxin treatment may reduce muscle movement in this area and soften their appearance.
Is Jeuveau the same as Botox?
Jeuveau and Botox are different brands of botulinum toxin type A products. Both are used to temporarily reduce targeted muscle activity and improve the appearance of certain facial lines and wrinkles. Your provider can discuss which option is appropriate for you.
Is Dysport the same as Botox?
Dysport and Botox are different neurotoxin products used to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles. Although they are used for similar aesthetic concerns, their formulations and dosing are not identical.
How do I know whether I need Botox or filler?
A simple way to think about it is movement versus volume. Wrinkles caused primarily by repetitive facial movement are often treated with neurotoxins, while concerns associated with volume loss or facial structure may be better suited for dermal filler. A facial assessment is the best way to determine the appropriate treatment.
Can I still look natural after Botox or neurotoxin injections?
That should be the objective of a thoughtful treatment plan. Neurotoxin dosing and placement can be customized based on the patient's anatomy, muscle strength, facial movement, and desired level of movement.
